Community Members, thank you for your interest in joining us for our fourth annual Ancestral Institute's Gathering will be held from November 16 to 21, 2025, in collaboration and partnership with the Intercultural Indigenous Language Institute at the University of Belize (IILI-UB), the National Garifuna Council (NGC), and the Productive Organization for Women in Action (POWA), in Dangriga, Belize.

The program for the Gathering includes meeting and a welcome at Pelican Bay Resort in Dangriga, Belize on Sunday, Nov 16, the Conference/Gathering formally begins at 9:00am on Monday, Nov 17 (see draft program on the AI-25 Website). As a community member, this nominal registration confirms your commitment to attend and covers your attendance for the Gathering.

Whether this is your first Ancestral Institute edition or you're one of our supporters attending since we started, and as you experience the Gathering, we look forward to sharing that with you, particularly, ensuring that you are in a safe and affirming environment - remember, this conference is for, about and by you.

On Thursday, Nov 20, we planned two immersive experiences: to the Maya Center for a Mayan Ceremony (NOTE: joining the ceremony and then leaving before it ends is disruptive and disrespectful, and to fully participate, you're asked to refrain from drinking alcohol or engaging in any sexual activity at least three (3) days before attending the ceremony, i.e., Sunday, Nov 16; and a Garifuna cultural experience on Palmetto Grove Island (full immersion US$85.00 per person and payable on arrival).

At this Gathering for our communities we welcome everyone, whether a person can afford the nominal fee (as a commitment) or not; anyone who is unable to afford the nominal fee is still welcome.

Accommodation for AI-24 is the Pelican Bay Resort, which is located in Dangriga, Belize. Email: sales@pelicanbeachbelize.com and mention AI2025 to receive room discounts. There are a limited number of rooms, which will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Miembros de la comunidad, gracias por su interés en acompañarnos en nuestra cuarta reunión anual del Instituto Ancestral que se llevará a cabo del 16 al 21 de noviembre de 2025, en colaboración y asociación con el Instituto Intercultural de Lenguas Indígenas de la Universidad de Belice (IILI-UB), el Consejo Nacional Garífuna (NGC) y la Organización Productiva de Mujeres en Acción (POWA), en Dangriga, Belice.

El programa del Encuentro incluye una reunión y una bienvenida en Pelican Bay Resort en Dangriga, Belice, el domingo 16 de noviembre. La Conferencia/Reunión comienza formalmente a las 9:00 am del lunes 17 de noviembre (consulte el programa preliminar en el sitio web de AI-25). Como miembro de la comunidad, esta inscripción nominal confirma su compromiso de asistir y cubre su asistencia al Encuentro.

El jueves 20 de noviembre planeamos dos experiencias de inmersión: al Centro Maya para una Ceremonia Maya (NOTA: unirse a la ceremonia y luego irse antes de que termine es perturbador e irrespetuoso, y para participar plenamente, se le pide que se abstenga de beber alcohol o participar en cualquier actividad sexual al menos tres (3) días antes de asistir a la ceremonia, es decir, el domingo 16 de noviembre); y una experiencia cultural garífuna en Palmetto Grove Island (inmersión total US$ 85,00 por persona y a pagar en destino).

En este Encuentro por nuestras comunidades damos la bienvenida a todos, ya sea que una persona pueda pagar la tarifa nominal (como compromiso) o no; Cualquiera que no pueda pagar la tarifa nominal es bienvenido.
